Vesna Vulovi was an air hostess on plane that blew up on a flight from Stockholm to Belgrade in 1972.
Stuck behind her food and drinks trolley in the back of the plane, she fell 10,000 meters to the ground.
She was the only survivor.
She became a celebrity in Yugoslavia, and received an award from the Guinness Book of World Records for surviving the highest fall without the aid of a parachute.
Paul McCartney gave her the award.
When questioned, she said she survived because the food and drinks trolley acted as a seatbelt, and unlike her tense passengers that were braced in the crash position her body was relaxed.
I’m not sure what that says about luck?
But I assume that good luck will come to you if you don’t do what everyone else is doing, always have a food and drinks trolley handy, and just fucking relax.
